Rotelle For Better OLED

Physicists from University of Utah have created a new organic rotelle-shaped molecule called "pi-conjugated spoked-wheel macrocycle" that increases the efficiency of LEDs by emiting light in random directions unlike the polarized one-direction in conventional LEDs that traps much of the light within the LED. These more efficient OLEDs (organic LEDs) will lead to products that will consume much less electricity which in turn will increase battery life for phones, and bring down the price of OLED products - TVs, light bulbs....
