Iridic Granules

"Holy Cow" was what I said when I saw the picture below. I should've said "Holy Llama"!! Yes, you are looking at an extreme close-up of a llama's eye. The ruffles you see are called Iridic Granules, and they act like built-in sunglasses providing extra protection from the glare of bright lights hence reducing eye-strain. Brilliant!
