Noctilucence In Blue

In the early days of summer, sky watchers of higher latitudes enjoy a delightful sight of electric-blue clouds with tendrils that ripple against the sunset sky. Noctilucent clouds are formed when ice crystals cling to the smoky remains of meteors. This year, this magical evening display started earlier than expected, and is spreading to the lower latitudes.
