Atomic-Scale Quantum States

According to a study published today that was conducted by scientists at the London Centre for Nanotechnology, an important step has been achieved towards fabricating devices at the single-atom limit. These scientists have coupled single atoms to form quantum states resembling artificial molecular orbitals on silicon by creating interacting single-atom defects.
